Randall Newman is an attorney at Keller Postman LLC. An experienced and creative litigator, Randall has a history of initiating novel cases on behalf of his clients.

Before joining Keller Postman, Randall was a partner at Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP where he represented plaintiffs in state and federal consumer class actions. Randall was also an associate at Dechert, LLP and represented Fortune 500 companies litigating state tax matters in various jurisdictions.

Among his more notable achievements, Randall initiated a class action challenging the 1935 copyrights to the world’s most famous song, Happy Birthday to You!, that resulted in a $14 million settlement and the song entering the public domain. Randall also successfully challenged the 1960 copyright to the civil rights song We Shall Overcome, resulting in that song entering the public domain. Randall initiated the antitrust litigation against Apple, Inc. that eventually led to the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2019 decision in Pepper v. Apple in favor of iPhone owners.

Randall graduated from New York University School of Law with an LL.M. in Taxation, earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Akron School of Law, and earned his B.B.A. in Accounting from Cleveland State University.
