Reuters: Can the plaintiffs’ bar loosen Big Law’s grip on J.D. students? It’s trying

Keller Postman is calling law students to the plaintiffs’ bar by providing many of the benefits of a “big law” practice at a firm focused on plaintiff-side work. Recent law graduates with strong records flock to defense firms by default. But at Keller Postman, we offer a career opportunity to entrepreneurial young attorneys who seek intellectually engaging matters and rewarding work.

Eager to explore alternatives to the defense bar, law students themselves are calling for change. Fred Messner — a Harvard 3L and recent summer associate at Keller Postman — co-founded the Harvard Plaintiffs’ Law Association. “The message we got back from the plaintiffs’ bar was, ‘It’s about time,’” Messner said.
