George Ellis is an Attorney at Keller Postman, LLC. George is a creative and persistent advocate, who consistently crafts novel and winning strategies for clients across a range of disputes.

His practice has included work on a range of public and internal corporate investigations, from regulatory and internal investigations to representation of municipality plaintiffs. Additionally, his work has included assisting in the oversight of a voluntary internal investigation conducted by a large bank in anticipation of potential claims arising from public allegations of its having accepted Nazi assets in the run-up to and during the WWII era. George is fluent in German and has worked with teams in Germany and Switzerland on cross-border U.S. anti-trust matters. He is a member of the general litigation practice representing corporate defendants in a wide array of matters, from toxic torts to insurance defense.

Prior to joining Keller Postman, George worked for the Chicago office of Jenner & Block. At Jenner, he was an integral part of a small team of attorneys working in Zurich, Switzerland, on a cross-border regulatory matter. George assisted in the compliance investigation of a large international bank in connection with an IRS-mandated independent Monitorship of its cross-border banking activities and related compliance efforts, following the bank’s settlement with the IRS and New York Department of Financial Services (part of a broader settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice and federal regulators). Additionally, George worked with the New Jersey firm of Seeger Weiss, where he represented the cities of Chicago and San Francisco in prosecuting their claims against Purdue Pharmaceuticals as part of the nationwide opioid litigation.

Quote

"The world is filled with so many small and large wrongs upon which the light rarely if ever is shone. To the extent I, as a plaintiff’s attorney, can balance these very uneven scales in favor of wrongfully injured clients, I consider this a noble enterprise, and a life well spent."
