Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg Ordered to Produce Documents in Texas v. Meta Platforms Inc.

February 27, 2023

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been ordered to produce documents in State of Texas v. Meta Platforms Inc., where Keller Postman attorneys are representing the State of Texas against Meta for engaging in privacy violations and deceptive trade practices, in violation of Texas law.

“Mark Zuckerberg has documents that go to the core of the State’s case against Meta, and the Court ruled that the company should have to produce those,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said. “We expect the documents will show that Meta, for over a decade, captured the biometric identifiers of Texans without their informed consent for Meta’s own commercial gain in violation of Texas law.”

This is the latest win in a massive lawsuit brought by the Texas Attorney General that seeks redress for Meta’s capture and misuse of Texans’ biometric identifiers, including on Facebook and Instagram.

The Keller Postman team includes Partner Zina Bash (who argued the motion in court), Jessica Beringer, Nick Larry, Frank Dylewski, Alex Dravillas, Rosie Romano, James Ji, and Marissa Spalding.
